As the principal director of Coastal Design Ms. Deborah Lynn Kirschner brings an extremely broad scope of diversified experience and creative talent to each and every landscape design and construction project she touches.

What positions Deborah Kirschner and Coastal Design well ahead of her contemporaries is a solid mix of business management skills and inspired artistic ingenuity.  Deborah's creative abilities are opulent, dramatically expressive, always highly original, and she gets the job done on time and on budget.

She has done extremely well in the realm of creative business enterprises not because of her expertise and exceptional business acumen but in spite of it.  Deborah is blessed with a rare combination of great business skill, a determination to get even the smallest detail right, and a relentlessly inventive natural talent.

Aside from her having a lifetime filled with amazing gardens Deborah's academic studies of creative arts & design are fairly extensive, including years spent at the Kodak School in Camden, Maine, graphic design studies at Platt College, intensive fine art studies at the San Francisco Academy of Art, as well as nine years as the owner and president of a highly successful graphic and visual arts studio in the Newport Beach area.  The Newport studio served as a conduit for the production and sales of large amounts of fine art, particularly paintings, sculpture, and mixed-media works.

After closing the Newport art studio enterprise to spend time with her family Deborah finally returned in full force to the design world. Committing the last ten years to the creation and installation of dramatic landscape architecture projects, she has operated under the Coastal Design brand and C27 license since 2000.
